AI Is introducing some really interesting tools to assist with the creation of buildings. There are a lot that won’t stand the test of time. However, there are a few that are pretty fun to experiment with in the meantime.

Listed below some of the ones we use.

1. Polycam – Scan your house with your iphones inbuilt LIDAR scanner to produce a 3D model you can then view on your phone. We use it to capture information on site in addition to taking photos
2. Propcode – Not glamorous but very handy free (with paid options) for getting a quick understanding of the planning instruments that apply to your particular site. We use it for quick access to the relevent planning codes. Paid options give you deeper insights into what is possible with a CDC or DA.
3. Gemini Veo – A fun tool for turning visuals into short AI generated videos

We having been using Google’s Nano Banana recently to assist with rendering our 3D computer models. It is still terrible at creative tasks but for rendering it is rapidly becoming a replacement for a task that would have take many hours to do manually. This is enabling us to present clearer images to clients of our designs and reduce the uncertainty between sketch and reality.
